Dear Friends in Christ,
When the world feels heavy—divided and uncertain—hearts ache, minds seek peace, and souls hunger for hope. In these moments, while many search for a way forward, the bread of life reminds us of abundance. There is enough love, grace, and hope for all. This year's theme “Bread of Life” highlights how Jesus fed people—not just their bodies but their souls—with good news, redemption, and stories of God’s kin(g)dom.
From wedding feasts to eating with tax collectors to feeding thousands, people left Jesus’ presence with full hearts and bellies. As we journey through Lent, from the wilderness to the shorelines of Galilee, we will find the sacred in the ordinary—like bread, simple yet essential. This Lent, our Christ Church community gathers to break bread, savor in the divine generosity of God, and rise to share with the world out of the abundance we have received from the bread of life.
Please note that you can get involved in the Lenten journey in many ways. To fully enjoy the encounter of Easter Sunday, I truly believe experiencing the Passion of Christ throughout Holy Week is essential. As such I encourage us to worship tighter throughout Holy Week as experience Christ’s ultimate sacrifice.
Please see below for opportunities to experience the Season of Lent fully.
Faithfully yours in Christ,
The Rev. Dr. Kyle Wagner

Each of the 40 days has a different suggested item, and you only need to bring one of each item. Bring the week’s items to the church on Sunday and watch the collected items grow. We will create a display at the front of the church using the items collected. This is an easy way to make a big difference! The calendar is at the back of the church!
Easter Garden Making March 16 in the Upper Hall following the 10:00am service. Come join fellow parishioners as we make an Easter Garden! Please RSVP to the parish office by March 9th so supplies can be acquired. This event is for all ages and a great way to enter into the season of Lent as we await Easter!
Pastoral Ministry Committee Lenten Campaign: Alongside Hope (PWRDF) During the season of Lent, the Pastoral Ministry Committee (PMC) invites you to contribute to the ministries of Alongside Hope (Formerly PWRDF). The PMC is suggesting making your contribution to the Haitian Women's Federation for improvements to access to water in the community of Grand Fond or to the Mi’kmawey Debert Cultural Centre under development by the Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq. Information on the projects and envelopes for your contribution will be available at the back of the church each Sunday in Lent. Alongside Hope, a new name but the same transformative ministry since 1958.
Bread of Life: Bread Making April 13 in the Lower Hall following the 10:00am service: Join us in the church hall as we make bread together and experience a prayerful way of connecting with God during this Holy Season. Led by Sue Leblanc, we will prayerfully exercise our faith by baking bread, which we will use for Maundy Thursday’s service. Please RSVP to the church office at [email protected] or by calling 902-466-4270
